In this inaugural blog, brace yourself as I stumble through an explanation of the why and how of my move from North Carolina to the city of San Francisco. I'm making this move to follow the dream of my imagined life. I imagine a fulfilling job I am honored to have, a city full of daily unexpected possibilities, and an ever expanding network of friends and colleagues that challenge me to become my best self.


I have already begun to lead this imagined life, and it's now time to up the ante. It's January and I have given notice at the distinguished institution that currently employs me. After taking some time to train and prepare the person that will continue my work here, I will leave my office not to return.
